Oyster River students collect donations for Cocheco Valley Humane Society

The social studies department at Oyster River High School has again hosted its annual Power of One: Students Creating Change program.

As part of this year’s effort Lucas Bisson, 14, and Brady Flannigan, 15, Barrington residents who are students at Oyster River High School, recently donated several carloads of much-needed supplies to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society as part of the Power of One.

Bisson recently underwent scoliosis surgery and was not able to participate in picking up donations so enlisted the help of his mom Traci Bisson, owner of It Takes a Village Pet Care. She shared Flannigan’s donation message on the company’s FaceBook page and mobilized her team of pet care providers who picked up donations at donors’ homes, in parking lots and other areas.
